Are you spending Thanksgiving in hotels near Disneyland Resort? There are plenty of other ways to spend the holiday besides at Disneyland Park. You can work out during Thanksgiving morning at the 5^th Annual Plymouth Rock n’Run 5K and kids’ 1K fun and the Dana Point Turkey Trot. Both of these events are a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving before eating a large meal with family!

Plymouth Rock N’Run, November 22

The Plymouth Rock N’Run has 5K and 10K courses along Yorba Regional Park and the Santa Ana River trail. The race benefits spinal cord injury research at the Reeve-Irvine Research Center. The race will employ accurate real-time RFID chip timing for both races. Kids can race in a 1K fun run for ages 10 and under. All participants will get special dog tag medals and t-shirts. Awards go to 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rdmale and female finishers in overall races. Medals will also be given to top male and female 5K and 10K age/gender category winners. Commander Chuck Street will MC the event. Live music will play throughout the race. Other entertainment includes door prizes, costume contest, food, fun and more. Regular registration is $15 for the Kids Fun Run, $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 19K until November 18.  Late Registration is November 19-22 and the prices raise $5. Dana Point Turkey Trot 2012, November 22

The 35^th Annual Turkey Trot is a 5K and 10K race on the beaches, cliffs and coves of Dana Point.  Registration opens at 6am, and the 10K race starts at 7am. The 5K masters race starts at 8:30am. There will also be a costume contest starting at 9:10am. Mission Hospital is holding a Kids’ Gobble Wobble Start at 10am. It is recommended that you arrive 45 to 60 minutes before your start time. Standard registration is $40 for the 5K, $45 from the 10K, $55 for both for $12 for the Gobble Wobble Race.  You can pick up race bibs, t-shirts and goodie bags Wednesday, November 21 at the Aviir Health and Wellness Expo.
